I established Wollundry Wood Crafts in September 2013, and have been operating as a Sole Trader for 2.5 years. During this time I have also been undertaking professional training in Cabinet Making, Wood Machining and Furniture Finishing with NSW TAFE.
I am a Licenced Joiner.
Wollundry Wood Crafts operates in two workshops. A small workshop at home and a larger shared workshop, on a property just on the outskirts of Wagga. The larger shared workshop has a 12" Helical Head Jointer, a 15" Thicknesser, a 2hp Shaper, a Horizontal Borer, a 16" Drum Sander, a 20" Disc Sander, a 10" Table Saw with a sliding table, a 6" x 89" Edge Sander, a 14" Band Saw, a Morso Framing Guillotine and a Benchtop Mortiser and a 1.5 and 2.0 hp Dust Extractors. My home workshop has a 10" Table Saw with a sliding table, a 1.5 hp drill press and a 2.0 hp dust extractor.
2016 will see the arrival of a Bobbin Sander, which will greatly enhance my ability to do curved projects such as dining chairs, and curved fronted hall tables and writing desks.
My professional Training includes the completion of three Certificate III's with NSW TAFE. These are a Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms) from Riverina TAFE in Wagga Wagga, a Certificate III in Furniture Making (Wood Machining) and a Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Furniture) from Lidcombe TAFE in Sydney
In 2016, I commenced doing a Certificate III in Furniture Finishing, at Lidcombe TAFE in Sydney.
Prior to establishing Wollundry Wood Crafts, I worked as a Soil Conservationist with the NSW Public Service for 24 years. Whilst working in natural resource management, I was a hobbyist woodworker for 8 years from 2005 to 2013.
