CONTACT MAKER

I established Wollundry Wood Crafts in September 2013, and have been operating as a Sole Trader for 9 years. During this time I have also completed professional training in Cabinet Making, Wood Machining and Furniture Finishing with NSW TAFE.

In addition to this training, I have completed many week long training courses, including many Sturt Summer and Winter Schools, at Mittagong, training with Stuart Montague at the Illawarra Woodwork School, with Paul Nicholson at Splinter Workshop in Sydney, with Evan Dunstone at Dunstone Design in Queanbeyan.

The making of Windsor Chairs has also progressed, with nine Windsor Chairs being made, under the masterly teaching and guidance of Howard Archbold from Rare Chairs and Geoff Tonkin.

Over the last 7 years, I have also been a carving student of Hape Kiddle, having done many carving workshops under the guidance of Hape, in Griffith, Canberra, Clifton and Queanbeyan and by Zoom, during this Covid epidemic.

I am a Licenced Joiner.

Wollundry Wood Crafts operates in two workshops. A small insulated and airconditioned workshop at home and a larger shared workshop, on a property just on the outskirts of Wagga. The larger shared workshop has a 12" Helical Head Jointer, a 15" Thicknesser, a 3 Phase Panel Saw, a 3 Phase 635mm wide Drum Sander, a Tilting Table Morticer, a 2hp Shaper, a Horizontal Borer, a 16" Drum Sander, a 20" Disc Sander, a 10" Table Saw with a sliding table, a 6" x 89" Edge Sander, a 1 hp Bobbin Sander with a tilting table, a 14" Band Saw, a Morso Framing Guillotine and a Benchtop Mortiser and a 1.5 and 2.0 hp Dust Extractors. My home workshop has a 10" Table Saw with a sliding table, a 1.5 hp drill press and a 2.0 hp dust extractor.

My professional Training includes the completion of four Certificate III's with NSW TAFE. These are a Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms) from Riverina TAFE in Wagga Wagga, a Certificate III in Furniture Making (Wood Machining), a Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Furniture) and a Certificate III in Furniture Finishing (specialising in French Polishing) from Lidcombe TAFE in Sydney.

Prior to establishing Wollundry Wood Crafts, I worked as a Soil Conservationist with the NSW Public Service for 24 years. Whilst working in natural resource management, I was a hobbyist woodworker for 8 years from 2005 to 2013.
